Hello everyone!

I fractured the top of my foot in April, wore the walking cast for a few weeks and now my foot is officially healed! I have high arches and a bunion on the formerly broken foot. I would like to know what brands of sandals should I wear to the office? Also, what kinds of walking shoes? Once fall comes, I'm sure that I'll be wondering about closed toed shoes to the office. When I'm on my feet for too long, I still get some pain alongside the foot and / or on the top. Maybe instead of certain brands that are comfortable, stylish and healthy for my feet, I should look for certain characteristics in the shoes that I buy? I've heard that Aravon, Dansko or Aetrex manufacture good shoes for my situation. What do you think? THANK YOU

From the words you use l am guessing your from the USA?

l would look up a Certified Pedorthist in your location for the best advice as far as brands are concerned.

With the history you have given l would be looking for a shoe/sandal that has a wedge sole as apposed to a heel, this should give you more support as well as a longer heel stiffener and most certainly not a slip on.

As for the high arch and the fact you have a fractured top of the foot you will also need a custom made arch support.

When you visit your local C.Ped you will need to tell him what bone was fractured on the top of the foot and what the cause of the fracture was, blunt force or do you have osteoporosis? and please take your Xrays and any medical reports you may have.

Good luck
